Sophie Crocker
Producer
Sophie Crocker is a fiction, poetry, and screenplay MFA student at UBC, and her previous publications include Best Canadian Poetry 2023, The Fiddlehead, The Adroit Journal, and her debut poetry collection, Brat (Gordon Hill Press, 2022). She has worked in theatre and casting for years, most recently as a FOH manager for the 2024 Victoria Fringe Festival. Find her website here.
Nicola Wanless
Stage Manager
Nicola Wanless is a non-binary writer and theatre artist, who is currently pursuing an MFA at UBC in Creative Writing. Previous theatre credits include, Dynamis Lost (Calgary Fringe Festival), Haunted FM (Calgary Fringe Festival), Submerged (Brave New Play Rites), and Signal (Art Out Loud Festival). They write and co-produce the narrative fiction podcast The Rest is Electric, two seasons of which are available online
Elysia Tessler
Associate Producer
Elysia Tessler is a playwright and screenwriter living in Vancouver, BC. She is originally from Toronto, did her undergraduate degree in Theatre at the University of Victoria, and is currently an MFA candidate in Creative Writing at UBC. She loves to write dramadies about complex family dynamics, intergenerational trauma, and infuenced by Jewish tradition and culture.
Frances Koncan
Faculty Advisor
Frances Koncan (she/they) is an Anishinaabe and Slovene playwright from Couchiching First Nation and Assistant Professor of Playwriting at UBC. They hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Manitoba and an MFA in Playwriting from the City University of New York Brooklyn College.
